St. Margaret's at Cliffe is a three-part village and is located near the coastal road between Deal and Dover in Kent, England. The heart of the village is about 3/4 miles (1 km) from the sea with the residential area of Nelson Park further inland. St. Margaret's Bay is located along and under the cliffs north of southern foreland and is located on a prominent cliff with a wide view of the English Channel. Hope Point is located along the coast east of the village. This area is protected as SSSI and Heritage Coast.

I had contact with David Hart, chairman or St Margaret's Parish Council. I visited Hope Point in June 2014 and slept near the nearof Hope Point at the Dover Patrol Memorial on a high-rise car park with sea views, where the ferries slide back and forth in silent grayness.
